“In keeping with the recent diversification of LGBT healthcare, I see my role in this field as equally multifaceted. I wish to be a provider of healthcare to the LGBT community as well as a healthcare policy advocate focusing on LGBT issues. At the same time, I see myself continuing to advocate for…the elimination of homo/bi/transphobia within the medical establishment.””

Jeremy has proven himself to be an activist and trailblazer in the purest sense. In 2003, he founded Queer Action, an LGBT student activist group at VCU. Here, Jeremy organized numerous campus rallies in support of LGBT issues. In 2004 he took action to combat a situation where same-sex couples were barred from a dance contest sponsored by VCU Athletics. his peer and the university administration see Jeremy as a compassionate, strong community leader.

While some activists would stop here, Jeremy pressed on. In 2005, he drafted a proposal that spawned a campaign for an LGBT Resource Center at VCU. Jeremy has continued to provide support to the campaign.

Looking forward, Jeremy plans to pursue his career in medicine while continuing his research and advocacy work with the transgender community and the larger LGBT community as a whole. LGBT HEART is proud to support Jeremy's work!
