LEADER, VISIONARY
|
|
A quick review of Brian’s nine-page resume begs
the question “when does this ambitious and successful student find time
for sleep?” An accomplished leader, Brian unites a national network of
LGBT students in the health professions, manages a vast array of
national projects and initiatives addressing LGBT health, and serves as
an important proponent of LGBT-inclusive cultural competency in health
care.

COMBATING DRUG USE
|
|
Recreational
drugs have become all-too-prevalent in the LGBT community. The
resulting impact has been disastrous. Brian has dedicated his training
to becoming accomplished in the impact of substance abuse on the LGBT
community. He has conducted research, trained colleagues, and lectured
our community on the dangers of substance abuse.
Brian is using his position as a
leader in LGBT health to push substance abuse issues to the forefront
of LGBT health. His professional goal is to marry his training as a
physician with his interest in substance abuse, to provide world-class
mental health and addiction care to the LGBT community. Taking it one
step further, Brian plans to use his business education to help
facilitate the delivery of health care, irrespective of ability to pay,
while maintaining an economically sustainable health care delivery
system. With Brian’s experience and drive, there is no doubt he will be
successful in his endeavors.

“I am confident that I will thrive in the dynamic
[health care] environment and cultivate best practices that will
improve LGBT health.”
