Raising healthy families is reflected in Julie’s
academic interest in all aspects of human reproduction. She has
dedicated her training and her career to helping members of the LGBT
community enter the world of parenthood. She has been selected to
participate in prestigious internships in reproductive epidemiology
while also focusing heavily on women’s health issues, such as ovarian
and breast cancer, as demonstrated by her research and publication
activities.
Not
only have Julie’s research and interests already impacted the health of
the LGBT community, they have impacted her mentors and colleagues as
well. The leadership of her academic programs consider Julie the kind
of scientist and future clinician that comes along “once every twenty
years.” With future leaders like Julie in the pipeline, the future of
LGBT health is in good hands.
